Million Meals Packed & Sent

Rockford and the surrounding stateline area rallied, and together we did it! 1,077,500 meals have been packaged and are being distributed in Haiti! And none to soon, as we are still receiving reports from people in Haiti that more and more tired and hungry people are moving from Port-au-Prince to the northwest part of the country, where our mission partner is located. Northwest Haiti Christian Mission is serving over 20,000 meals a day. So the need is huge, and this project has been crucial!

You Can Still Help!

While we are close, we still have a funding gap. The food packed into each nutritious meal costs $0.17. Through a unique partnership with Kids Around the World, shipping all the way to Haiti is covered. There are no administrative costs. So literally every cent that is donated goes directly to food that will go right into the stomachs of Haitians. Mobilize your workplace, organization, friends and family to raise money to help close the gap. If you would like to make a donation right now, simply click here.

Schools Partner With Sharefest

During the Million Meals for Haiti project, the Rockford Public School’s Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council launched a district wide program called Take It Half Way. They challenged and led high school students to pack 500,000 of the Million Meals for Haiti. Students, elementary, junior high and high school, from school district #205 raised funds to pack meals. Visit rps205.com to find out more about what happened – or – you can ask any Rockford Public High School student. They will tell you what it feels like to make a difference in our world.
